Therese Mermis

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, October 21, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Therese Mae Mermis of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Mermis, 58, died on October 15, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James Arnold, Timothy Martin, Anthony Martin, Benjamin Mermis, William F. Runyan II, and Tim Posey.  Honorary pallbearers will be all of her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Therese was born June 27, 1963 in Albuquerque; the daughter of Alfred J. Mermis Jr. and Virginia Mae Padilla Mermis.

She was a Special Olympics Athlete and a volunteer at Artesia Medical Supply.  She loved shopping, coloring, riding ATV's, viewing wildlife, and spending time on the Runyan-Martin 4 Mile Ranch in Hope.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Virginia Mermis; and her niece Shantell Marie Mermis

Survivors include her brother Mark Mermis Sr.; sisters Karen Martin and husband Ray, and Cheryl Bonilla; nine nieces and nephews; fifteen great-nieces and great-nephews; also by the staff at Artesia Medical Supply and her very best friend James Arnold.
