Frederick Kezar

March 15, 1964 — April 4, 2021

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Dexter Cowboy Church in Dexter, N.M., for Frederick Alan Kezar of Lake Arthur, New Mexico.

Mr. Kezar, 57, died April 4, 2021 in Roswell, NM.

Burial will follow the services at the Lake Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Terpening & Son Mortuary, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 1-5pm.

Fred was born on March 15, 1964 in Sumner, Iowa to Frederick Anthony Kezar and Rita Carolyn Fischer Kezar. He came to New Mexico with his family in 1976. He lived and worked on his family's farm in the Loving and Malaga area and then later in the Cottonwood area.

In 1993 he married the love of his life and soulmate Debbie Robinson. He left the farming industry in 1992 and worked for Southeast Ready Mix for 15 years. He loved his job there and was always willing to go out of his way to help the customers. In 2006 he left the Ready Mix Company and went to work for the Eddy County Road Department and Public Works. He worked there until just last month when his lymphoma cancer returned and he was not able to return to work.

In 2017, he started attending the Dexter Cowboy Church in Dexter. He was a loyal christian and enjoyed helping with many of the outreach ministry gigs, serving food and drinks, and listening to the gospel songs and messages. He was always willing to give an extra hand when needed.

He loved to tease and joke around with others, always had a loving nature and loved animals. He always had a smile on his face, and faced his illness with courage and stamina to face whatever it took to fight his illness. He will be missed by many friends, coworkers and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Debbie; sisters Carolyn Caudill and husband Caroll of Carlsbad, NM, and Mary Patricia Hunt and husband Johnny of Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
