Services are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, December 7 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Freddie Torres Garcia of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Garcia, 68, died on December 1, 2022 at his home in Artesia.

Fr. Vijay will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Diaz, Anthony Sanchez, Steven Castillo, Abram Franco, Rudy Beltran, Aaron Saenz, and Adam Barrera. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2 to 6 pm on Tuesday. A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 am on Wednesday.

Freddie was born on November 20, 1954 in Artesia; the son of Jesus Garcia and Rachel Torres Garcia.

He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a truck driver for many years. Freddie enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved music and dancing, watching television and especially John Wayne movies, telling funny stories and most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jimmy Garcia, and a sister Mellie Garcia.

Survivors include his wife Esther Garcia; children Trish Garcia, Freddie Ray Martinez, David Aragon and wife Amanda, Augustine Garcia and wife Vanessa, Adrian Lee Garcia, and Brittney Norez and husband Cristian; sisters Mary Hinojos, Elva Hernandez, and Brenda Garcia; his chosen brother Gary Gavitt; grandchildren Aaron Saenz, Mia Aragon, Alize Norez, Ezra Norez, Melody Norez, Raquel Garcia, A.J. Garcia, Bella Garcia, and Analycia Garcia; also by a great-grandchild Emberlynn Saenz.
