Services were held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 19, at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Susana Ochoa Vargas of Artesia, New Mexico.
Ms. Vargas, 76, died on April 14, 2023 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Mike Wright officiated at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Susana was born on July 14, 1946 in Francisco Javier Mina, Durango, Mexico; the daughter of Nicandro Leyva and Tomasa Ochoa Leyva.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Osvaldo Ochoa, and a brother Ruben Leyva.
Survivors include her husband Lorenzo Chavez; a son Nicandro Leyva; daughters Esther Tena, and Elvia Riestra; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
