Russell Stoneman

May 25, 1971 — June 19, 2021

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday, June 23, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Russell Clyde "Stoney" Stoneman of Artesia, New Mexico.

Stoney was born on May 25, 1971 and passed from this earth on June 19, 2021.

He grew up in Artesia. He fell in love with rodeo, and competed in 4-H and High School rodeos across the state. He could cowboy and it showed in the saddles, buckles and tack he won through the years.

Stoney was a simple man that never met a stranger. He loved kids and they loved him. He was content with an old pickup and a couple of dogs. He always had a joke to share, and wasn't above pulling a prank or two.

Stoney was survived by his parents Sammy Stoneman and Terry Bussey Stoneman. His children Hazer Archer, Dallie and Raelyn Stoneman, and Caleb Tuttle. He had four grandchildren Kalahan, Kade, Xander and Blaze. Sisters were Cassey Malone, Sammy Shipley, and Tamarah Billington. A brother Glenn Stoneman. Stoney had numerous other relatives that he loved.

Stoney was also blessed with a second family that he loved like his own, longtime girlfriend Barbara Baker and her family. He also had a list of friends that we couldn't begin to name.

When you think of Stoney and a smile crosses your face, just know that is him saying "I Love You!".

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Bannister, Michael LeCompte, J.J. Stoneman, Sam Stoneman, Blu Stoneman, Jeremy Baker and Johnny Duran. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Stoney's friends.
