Patricia Martinez

Services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday, March 9 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Patricia Michele Martinez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Martinez, 61, died on March 3, 2023 at her home in Artesia.

Fr. Vijay will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace at 8 am on Thursday. A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 am on Thursday.

Patricia was born on August 18, 1961 in Alamogordo, New Mexico; the daughter of Byron Riggs and Opal Anita Nelson Riggs.

On June 21 1984, she was married to Esteven Martinez. She was a longtime resident of Artesia. She loved to bake and cook and her favorite thing to do was to feed her family and anyone else that was hungry. She especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Jessica Lynn Martinez.

Survivors include her husband Steve Martinez; father-in-law Gil Martinez; sisters Jean Ernest, Lyn Riggs and Bobbie Riggs Isaacs; and also by numerous extended family members.
