Lucinda was born on April 2, 1958 in Clovis, New Mexico; the daughter of Jose Alvino Lucero and Crusita Tarango Lucero.

On June 6, 1980 she was married to Guadalupe Bejarano in Carlsbad, NM

Lucinda and Guadalupe were married for 40 years. Their marriage was full of many laughs and ever lasting memories. They both loved and care for one another every single second of their marriage.

Lucy(Lucinda) was a loving mother. She always made sure her 3 children never went without. Lucy was an amazing role model to each of them. Even though all 3 of her children are grown, Lucy still took care of them as much as she possibly could.

Lucy was her grandkids' biggest fan and supporter. She was known to always have a camera in her hand recording and taking pictures of her grandkids no matter what it was they were doing. There wasn't anything that she would not do for her family, especially her grandkids. All 8 of them had their own special place in her heart. Lucy always tried her best to be there for all of their activities.

Lucy was part of the Artesia Public Schools for 19 years. That does not include all the years that she was a substitute. Lucy was the librarian at Yucca Elementary. She also worked as the ticket person at many of the Junior High and High School games, she would also help in the concession stands. Lucy was known to many students and athletes for the suckers she would make, whether it was a reward for making their AR Goal or a treat in their goodie bags on a sports trip.
Lucy was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Lucy was known as a catechism teacher at Our Lady of Grace, she taught First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Lucy was your friendly Avon lady, she enjoyed her customers and enjoyed the conversations she would have with each of them. Lucy played a major role with the Relay for Life, she was in charge of the Luminarias.

She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother Jim Alvie Lucero Jr., and a grandchild.

Survivors include her husband Guadalupe of Artesia; father Jose Lucero of Albuquerque, NM; son James T. Bejarano and wife Melanie of Lubbock, Texas;  daughters Jessica Bejarano of Artesia and Melanie Bejarano of Artesia; sisters Shirley Hernandez of Odessa, Texas, and Cindy Major of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren James, Micaela, Alec, Bryce, J.J. , Devyn, Makenzi, and Ryan.
