A mass was held at 9:30 am on Thursday December 23, for Jose H Anaya (Jojo) of Artesia, New Mexico.
Jojo, 60, died December 19, 2021 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.
Father Vijay officiated at the services. A rosary was also held at 9 am. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Jojo is preceded in death by his father, Gabriel Anaya Sr., mother, Marcella Holguin, sisters, Eloisa Hernandez, Matilda Orquiz, and brothers, Vicente Anaya, and Rene Anaya
Jose is survived by brothers, Raymond Anaya, Gabriel Anaya, and Jesus Anaya. sisters, Guadalu[pe Rosales, Ramona Barragan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose was born June 14, 1961 in Artesia NM to Gabriel Anaya Sr. and Marcella Holguin. He attended Artesia High School and graduated in 1980.
Jojo was a competitor in the discus event at The Special Olympics. He was also known waving good morning to anyone who passed by the water tower. Jojo loved to sing, dance, play guitar He was a hard worker, cleaning pecans through the Door of Opportunity Program, and he loved Pepsi!
The family of Jojo Anaya would like to thank Mr. McGary and the rest of the staff at Door of Opportunity, Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, JJ Homecare, Comfort Keepers, as well as Dr. Wenner in Roswell, and Dr. Go in Artesia.
