John Renfro

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am Saturday, April 1, at First Baptist Church for John Thomas Renfro of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Renfro, 66, died on March 22, 2023 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Ty Houghtaling will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

John was born on August 4, 1956 in Sweetwater, Texas; the son of Burl Eugene Renfro and Joyce Lee Dodson Renfro.
They moved their family to Artesia New Mexico August of 1962.

After graduating from Artesia High School, John went on to attend ENMU in
Portales NM. He was a lifetime member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After graduating with a degree in Wildlife Management and went on to pursue a career with Severson Dells Wildlife Educational Center in the state of Illinois.

John enjoyed riding his motorcycle and snowmobiling with his friends. When John retired he chose to move back to Artesia to be close to family and
friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and eating out with friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Fletcher, Hal Kirkpatrick, Clendon Kirkpatrick,
Neil Potts, Rob Ryan, Tracy Renfro, Greg Renfro, Kent Bratcher, Mike Granado,
Billy Walters, Lane Fletcher, and Seth Fletcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Burl and Joyce Renfro.

He is survived by his sister Kathy Boyse, husband Benny Boyse and his
niece Jocelyn Boyse all of Artesia and niece Hannah Boyse of Plainview, TX
