Joelda "Joey" grew up in Artesia. She played on the girls summer softball league as a little girl. She played volleyball and basketball up to her junior year in high school. She graduated Artesia High School in 1992. She was independent and worked two jobs her senior year. She worked at Sonic and at FLETC. She earned her own money at a young age so she could buy her own makeup and clothes. She was interested in hair, make-up, accessories and fashion. Her best accessory that she wore was her Big Beautiful Smile that she will always be remembered by. Her smile was so contagious and so bright, it could light up any room. In 1995 she moved to Albuquerque to continue working and make a living. Her dream was to be a Beautician or a Culinary Artist. Her plans changed after she got married in 1996 and became a full time homemaker and cared for her two boys. She always put them first and made sure they had all the essentials they needed. She loved her boys very much. She loved people in general and people loved her. She always put people first before herself. She enjoyed hanging out in family gatherings making everyone laugh. Joey re-dedicated her life to God she would always say, "I have Jesus in my heart"!!! She was also excited that she was going to be a grandma this coming November. Heaven gained a Beautiful Soul in Joelda!!!
