Janice Walker

January 12, 1947 — November 19, 2022

Janice Elaine Walker, 75, of Artesia, New Mexico, entered into eternity on November 19, 2022.

Jan was born on January 12, 1947, in Eureka, Kansas, to Harold and Vivian Hill. She had 2 older brothers Richard and Wayne Hill.

Jan, who lovingly was called "Grammy Jan", by her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren lived in Artesia for the majority of her life.
She worked as a doctor's office manager, for Head Start and as the Director of Grammy's House for 10 years which was affectionately named after her.
She was presented with the Governor's Award for Outstanding Women of New Mexico in 2004. And saw Grammy's House win an Oscar for the documentary film, "See Mommy Cry", which brought awareness to battered women; a topic and ministry close and dear to her heart.

Jan was a classy woman who took fashion and style to another level! She loved shopping, cooking, reading, playing piano, but most of all loved people!
She has been an inspiration to many who have experienced loss and grief with her tenacity to keep running the race set before her.
She endured hardship with grace, humility and love. Not allowing bitterness or resentment to steal her joy or harden her heart.
