Domingo was born on June 3, 1951 in Artesia; the son of Juan C. Perez and Porfiria Valencia Perez.

Domingo was the 9th child born of 13 kids. At a young age he went to work with his dad and brothers. He then got a job with Champion Inc. where he worked contract work at Navajo for over 40 years and retired at the age of 62. His hobbies were working on his cars and trucks. He loved helping others do mechanic work on carburetors and motors.

Mingo had a routine drive he did every day. He would visit his sisters Olga and Dora and pass by and stop and visit a few nieces and nephews. He made several friends throughout his life and those friends he considered to be family. He loved being with family and loved all of the get togethers. He always worried about his siblings and their health. Every other Saturday morning he would pick up his grandson Adam and go load and haul trash to the dump.

Doming "Mingo" Perez was a great man with a big heart and very respectful. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul Perez, Johnny Perez, Sammy Perez, Armando Perez, Ismael Perez, and sisters Antonia Galindo, and Emma Cervantez.

Survivors include his son Domingo Perez Jr.; daughter Josephine Cortez; brothers Martin Perez and wife Martha, and Felix Perez and wife Kate; sisters Dora Martinez and husband David, and Olga Cortez and husband Bobby Lupe Salmon; grandchildren Jerryn Perez, Niklo Perez, Alyssa Saenz, Joseph A. Balencia, Alexandra Balencia and Adam Quintero; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
