Dennis Jensch

February 17, 1947 — December 28, 2020

Mr. Dennis S. Jensch, 73, of Silver City, NM, (formally of Long Beach, CA) died December 28, 2020 at his daughter's home in Artesia, N.M.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. No services are scheduled at this time.

Dennis was born February 17, 1947 in Long Beach, CA, the son of Gerhard Jensch and Blanche (Hill) Jensch. He spent most of his life in Southern California as a Shipwright; building, repairing, racing and being the skipper on a vast array of boats, but wooden sail boats were his passion. He loved doing any kind of carpentry work and was a master jack of all trades, he loved to sail on the ocean, loved to travel and especially loved being a Papa. He retired a few years ago and moved to Silver City to be closer to his girls and grandkids in the Artesia area. Dennis was a Vietnam Veteran with his service in the Army and he was also a cancer survivor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Also very dear friends Leonard and Denton.

Dennis is survived by his two daughters; Denise Crook and husband Mark; and Tammi Jensch, both of Artesia; granddaughters Alisha Rincon and husband Lorenzo of Dexter; and Deni Marie Jensch of Artesia; great grandchildren Lorenzo, Arabelle and Levi Rincon of Dexter. Sisters JoAnn Ellebracht and Doreen Warren of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by former wife and longtime friend Martie Carroll and former sisters-in-law Anita Kuperus and Angie Klatt of Artesia; former brothers-in-law Bob Antenucci of Missouri and Sonny Hope of Artesia.

A special thank you to his Silver City friends, Paula Harrison, Dean and all his friends at Rose Valley RV Ranch. Papa will be greatly missed by his loved ones and his 2 canine daughters Emily and Mattie. Dennis' ashes will be scattered at a later date in his favorite place, the Pacific Ocean.
