Brenda Lanning

Brenda Lanning, 62, of Artesia, N.M. passed away October 31, 2021 in Tucson, A.Z.

Brenda was born on April 22, 1959 in Artesia, N.M.; daughter to Gilbert "Bruce" Stark and Ishel Heathman. She remained in Artesia the majority of her life. In 1977 she married Jerry Lanning and they had three children together.

Brenda spent many years waitressing, rock hunting and "painting the town".

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Elvie Smith, and brother Johnny Stark.

Survivors include sister Shirley Rickstrew and husband Ralph of Amarillo, T.X., son Justin Lanning and fiance Charlie Nelms of Lovington, N.M., daughter Laura Lanning of Artesia, N.M., daughter Kyla Blakely and husband Jeremiah of Artesia, N.M.  Six grandchildren; Tessa Mathews, Bobby and Devan Crouch, Derik Grantham, Jace Lanning, (baby) Charlie and three great grandaughters; Avi, Amillah, and Annsyn.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
