Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 am Thursday, July 8, at Woodbine Cemetery for Billie Morris Isaacs of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Isaacs, 92, died on July 4, 2021 in Artesia.

Ty Houghtaling will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be grandsons Greg Isaacs, Joel Smith, Corey Isaacs, Toby Isaacs, Eric Isaacs, and Zachary Isaacs.

Visitation will be from 12 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.

Billie was born on January 11, 1929 in Formosa, Arkansas; the daughter of Drew Morris Brown and Rebecca Lucinda Qualls Brown.

She was married to Walt Isaacs on October 10, 1946 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was proud to be the wife of a Baptist minister and enjoyed working with him in his ministry. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2014 after 68 years of marriage.

Billie was a member of First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years not only at First Baptist but also in Loco Hills, Hagerman, Lake Arthur, Lake Wood and Emmanuel (West Main) Baptist Churches. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed many crafts. She loved to sing and loved her two story home on Roselawn, which was built in 1908, where she and Walt lived for over 50 years. She was an avid Bulldog fan, enjoyed fishing especially with her sister Merl, line dancing, and had also been a Girl Scout Leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, a brother and a son-in-law Glen R. Smith.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Kay Smith of Roswell, N.M.; sons Danny D. Isaacs and wife Linda of Alba, Texas, and Galen B. Isaacs and wife Barbara of Weed, N.M.; a sister Merlene Leavell of Dover, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
