Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Abel Ramirez Castillo of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Castillo, 32, died February 22, 2020 at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, N.M.
Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Julio Baeza, Juan Mondragon, Cesar Baeza, Luis Chavez, Felix Valdez, Jr., and Jose Alberto Salazar.
Visitation will be at Trinity Temple Thursday, February 27, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Abel was born July 26, 1987 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Lorenzo Castillo and Jessie (Ramirez) Gutierrez. He was a long time Artesia resident.
Abel loved being around his family and friends. He enjoyed dancing and going to car club shows. Abel loved to listen to music, draw, and talking on the phone. Abel enjoyed being on facebook. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He had lots of neices and nephews. Abel was humble, strong, and he was a fighter. Abel knew how much he was loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father Lorenzo G. Castillo; grandparents Elvira and Antonio Ramirez, and Socorro and Isedro Castillo; and nephew Jose "Pepe" Chavez.
Survivors include his mother Jessie Gutierrez and step-dad Heriberto; sisters Elvira Ortega, Hilda Baeza, Vanessa Mondragon, and Gracie Gutierrez; brothers Lorenzo Gonzales and Victor Castillo; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
