Wendell Pudney

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 7 at Woodbine Cemetery for Wendell Jared Pudney, 916 S. Second Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Pudney, 83, died Friday, January 4, 2002 at Sunset Villa Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico. J. T. Ross will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be B. R. Wilson and David Wilson. Mr. Pudney was born July 29, 1918 in Taylor, New York; the son of Benjamin Pudney and Carrie Fisk Pudney. He was never married. He was retired co-owner and operator of Pudney Farms, producers of dairy cattle, timber and maple syrup, in McGraw, New York. He came from there to New Mexico on January 7, 1984. He helped operate the Crockett ranch west of Hope, N.M. until 1993. He was a member of the Baptist denomination; a member of the National Rifle Association; and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister Lela Heath; and by brothers Mahlon Pudney and Karl Pudney. Survivors include a brother Lloyd Pudney of Artesia and nieces and nephews.
