With great love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Virginia Huertaz Palomin, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of God.
Virginia was married to Joseangel Palomin and together they began their life in Levelland, Texas. In 1983, Virginia returned to her hometown of Artesia, New Mexico, where she would continue raising her family and deepening her spiritual journey. Though Virginia and Joseangel later divorced in 2008, they shared a meaningful chapter and a loving family.
Virginia was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she served faithfully and passionately. She was active in the RCIA program and involved in every aspect of church service. Her mission in life was to bring everyone closer to the Lord, and she lived this purpose each day with humility, strength, and unwavering faith.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anita Ñieto Huertaz and Francisco Jaques Huertaz, her cherished brothers Celestino, Macedonio (Mase), Paul, and Francisco Jr. (Frankie), and her dearest grandson Chris Palomin.
She is survived by her sister Catherine and brother-in-law Arnulfo Gonzalez, and by her five loving children: Michael Palomin, JohnnyJoe Palomin and wife D'Layna, and their children: Nathan, wife Caitlyn, and their son Justin, Devyn, husband Robert Griffith, and their daughters Addison and Rosalyn, Grace Palomin and her children: Brandon, Anita "Nikki", husband Jose Acuña, and their children Anahei, Nellie, Isabella, and Clifton, Chris Palomin his daughter Lacie, Lorrie Castillo and husband Monroy Castillo, and their children: Anthony, wife Alex, and their children Alysha and Myles, Angelica "Jay" and her children Amiyah and Daidrian, Abby Jo Castillo, Joseangel Jr. "Joey" Palomin, wife Hannah, and their children: Kaetlie, Alyssa, husband Chris Morales, and their children Ava, Kai, Ady, and Ani, and Josiah Palomin.
Virginia's life was filled with purpose, guided by her love for God, family, and church family. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering faith leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 8 am Tuesday. A rosary will also be at 9:30 am on Tuesday.
