Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 27 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Victoria Florez Fierro, 810 Champ Clark Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Fierro, 79, died Saturday, February 23, 2002 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Father Clemente Comesky will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons Tony Fierro, Jr., Michael Fierro, Steven Salmon, Jeffrey Fierro, Nicholas Fierro and Matthew Fierro. All other grandchildren have been designated as honorary pallbearers. A Rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace. Mrs. Fierro was born May 1, 1922 in Picacho, New Mexico; the daughter of Vicente Florez and Genoveva Pineda Florez. She came to Artesia from Picacho in 1931. On January 3, 1944 she was married to Felix Fierro in Artesia. She was a housewife, and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the San Jose Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include her husband Felix Fierro of the family home; sons Tony Fierro and wife Dora, Sammy Fierro and wife Rosemary and Felix Fierro,Jr. and wife Olga all of Artesia; daughters Lupe Atencio and husband Bill of Albuquerque and Christina Grado and husband Martin of Artesia; sisters Reynalda Aguilar and Ofelia Orosco both of Artesia; and 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
