Sherill Dean Shearman

Sherill D. Shearman passed away February 10, 2026 in El Paso, Texas surrounded by the love of his family. He was born January 11, 1938 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to John S. and Sadie E. Shearman.

He loved his life in Artesia and spent his free time hunting, building custom guns, reloading, and sharing his love of the outdoors and hunting with his children and family.

During his 40 years with Navajo Refining he made many lifelong friends and enjoyed a career built on hard work and integrity.

Sherill is survived by his wife of 65 years Carolyn, their children: Suzanne; Mike and his wife Christi; and David and his wife Margie; his grandchildren Candice (Vic) Rodriguez, Shane (Samantha) Shearman, T'Naya (Derrick) Edwards, Gunnar Shearman, Shelby (Destry) Wilson, Ryan Caldwell and eleven great grandchildren.

Honoring Sherill's wishes, no services are planned. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
