Sheena Marie Smith was born on March 27, 1985, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Angela and Michael Hughie. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Hughie; her dad, Mikey Miller; her sister, Suzie Quezada; and her precious grandson, Atlas Hughes. We find comfort in knowing they are all together again.
Sheena leaves behind two beautiful daughters who were her entire world, Ashlynn Hinojos and Kaelynn Berdoza; her grandchildren, Draven, Aurora, Lore, and Lyric, who brought endless light into her heart; and her beloved partner, Zach Garcia. She is also survived by her sister, Marissa Leavitt (Cal); her brother, Chad Miller (Cayla); her mother, Angela Alvarez; her step-mom, Jan Miller; her brother-in-law, Loreto Quezada; her nephews, Jett Leavitt, Matthew Quezada, and Grayson Miller; her nieces, Charli and Evie Leavitt; and countless friends and family members who loved her deeply.
Sheena was a bright spot in a world that can often feel dim. She had a gift for making people smile - with her quirky attitude, her perfectly timed humor, and her enormous heart. Her love for animals, especially her dogs, was something everyone knew about her. They brought her peace, laughter, and companionship, and she cared for them with unwavering devotion.
Sheena was also a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan, always ready for a friendly wager. Everyone close to her knew the familiar sight of her wearing another team's jersey after a lost bet - something she and Suzie teased each other about endlessly, their playful rivalry becoming one of their sweetest traditions. And whenever music filled her car, it was almost always the voice of "her man," Chris Young, playing in the background.
To know Sheena was to love her. Her presence was comforting, her laughter contagious, and her love fierce and loyal. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and memories that will be cherished forever. Sheena was so loved, and she will be so deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. 333
