Robert Licht

No services are scheduled for Robert Paul Licht of Artesia, New Mexico.


Mr. Licht, 84, died April 21, 2019 at his home.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Robert was born October 20, 1934 in Wessington, SD the son of Richard and Mildred (Metschke) Licht.

Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.

In 1957 he was married to Kathleen Maurine Boehrns in Huron, SD. They spent the next nine years in Wessington, SD before moving to Belvidere, Illinois in 1966. After his retirement from the Chrysler Corporation they moved to Artesia in 1992. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2009.

He has four sons who were with him at the time of his passing, Ronald Licht , William Licht, Micheal Licht, and Dennis Licht. He also had a very close friendship with Debbie Anderson and her family while living here.

Robert had a passion for the history of the old West which was part of what drew him to the area. He also spent a lot of his time building and flying his radio control planes.

He also developed a very good friendship with Clif Mann and his family. He enjoyed looking after their animals and playing chess when the opportunity was available.
