Riley A. Perry, 75, took his final ride on July 18, 2025, at his home in Hope, NM. He was born on April 23, 1950, to Benny Perry and Eva Bernice (Wallace) Simcheck in Grangerland, TX.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Perry will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place under the direct care of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
We lost more than a man. We lost a hero and our heart. Riley was one of a kind. He had a goofy spirit, a kind heart, and a thick Cajun accent that made you listen a little harder and love him a little more.
He was always there. He was a constant. A storyteller. A gentle soul. A Coors Light in one hand and a wild story in the other. A true cowboy at heart.
He was the kind of man who made everyone feel at home. He loved his family fiercely, and we loved him right back. He showed what love, loyalty, and strength looked like. Without ever having to say much.
Riley is preceded by his father, Benny Perry; mother, Eva Simcheck; stepfather, Delton Simcheck; and late wife, Marsha Louise Rowley.
Those left to share Riley's many adventurous stories are his wife, Julie Perry; daughters, Becki Sutton (Bobby), Tina Taylor, Bandee Rominies, Rhiannon Anders, Leakeisha Vernum (Jerry), Christina Fowler (Cedric), Christi Gerhart (Ruben); sons, Willie Joe Perry (Jennifer), Joshua Tedford; honorary sons, Eddie Nowak, Tony Nowak (Blanda); grandchildren, Rori Paige (Juan), Edmund (Kenadie), Trey, Brenda, Haven (Ty), Jeffery, Loni, Gavin, Kacee (Justin), Connor (Liz), Briley (Gabe), Justin, Hunter, Aden (Olivia), Ashley, Stormey (David), Ember; great grandchildren, Teagan, Raelynn, Emory, Lola, Clayton, Jett, Wyatt, Waylon, Allie, Aiden, Alex, Axeman, Colton, Cayden, Autum, Richard, Ezra and Tala; stepmother, Jennie Perry; sisters, Shirley Perry, Jaquetta Singleton (Danny), Sue Lumen (James); brother, Ben Perry (Alicia); and honorary sister, Gina Worly. Along with numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Losing him will be the greatest pain we will ever feel. We will miss him more than words can say. But we will carry him with us in every story we tell and in every part of who we are.
