Ramon Richard Rockwell

Ramon Richard Rockwell, aged 89, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Newark, Delaware. He and his wife of 64 years, Alice, lived in the Jenner's Pond retirement community in Jennersville, Pennsylvania after spending most of their married life in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Born on May 2, 1936, in Artesia, New Mexico, he is survived by his widow, Alice Scott Rockwell; daughter, A. Kimberly Hoffman; granddaughter Lyla; brother, Fred MacDonald; sister, Patricia Smith; their spouses, Alba and Robert respectively; and nieces and nephews, Talia, Carlos, and Jose, as well as grand-nieces and nephews. Ray was especially close to his wife's cousin Scott Ellis, his wife Kathy, their son Andrew and his wife Hayley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Maas and Richard Rockwell.

Ramon was a graduate of Valdosta High School, where he played on the storied football team. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army and then earned a Master's in Business Administration from Florida State University. There he met Alice Scott. They married in Chattahoochee, Florida in 1961. Ray's professional life was marked by his tenure managing the renowned Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, Georgia, after which he embarked on his own retail ventures until his retirement. Ramon cherished his summers spent in Ruidoso, New Mexico, at the family home built by his grandparents along the Rio Ruidoso.

An internment service will be held at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, New Mexico, at 10 a.m. on June 20, 2026, with lunch to follow.
