Ofelia O. Perez (Opie), went home to her Lord and Savior on May 5, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband Henry Perez and family. Opie was born on January 21, 1955 to Julian and Delfina (Navarette) Ochoa in Artesia, NM. Opie worked as a Yields Accountant at Navajo Refinery for many years before retiring to become a homemaker.
Opie is survived by her devoted husband Henry of 50 years, her two precious poodles Mocha and Luna, sister Mary Montes, brothers Ruben Ochoa, Guadalupe Ochoa, Hector Ochoa, Joel Ochoa, and Alfredo Ochoa.
She was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Delfina Ochoa and her brothers Ludivico Ochoa, Julian Ochoa, Efrain Ochoa, and David Ochoa.
Opie loved spending time with her husband, her two poodles, and with her sisters of Navajo Refinery, Nora Munoz, Suzy Garcia, Esther Earl (Hicks), Jennifer Hillard, Mary Blain, and Juanita Molina. Opie was a devoted servant to her church serving in many different capacities. Opie loved spending time in Ruidoso and often referred to it as her home away from home.
Opie will be missed dearly by her husband, Mocha, Luna, sister, brothers and beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Ruben Ochoa, Guadalupe Ochoa, Hector Ochoa, Alfred Ochoa, Bobby Carrera, and Dino Perez Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the community of prayer warriors, Enhabit Hospice, and all the doctors and nurses that cared for Opie during difficult time.
