Kay Peterson

Norma Kay Peterson, 81, passed away on November 29, 2023. Kay was born on June 18, 1942 in Roswell, NM, the daughter of Norman and Maxine Walker.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Gene Peterson in Roswell, NM on January 29, 1960. She asked Gene on their first date to a Rainbow Girl dance. They have been inseparable ever since. Kay had a career as an LP Nurse before she joined Gene in his parts business.

Kay enjoyed painting, camping, crafts, and people. She always had a smile on her face and a hug for everyone. She also was very interested in the family's genealogy and spent a lot of time researching and sharing her findings. She loved playing with her grandkids.

Kay is survived by her husband Gene Peterson, her son Mark Peterson and wife Nancy, her daughter Pam Horner and husband Billy, her three grandchildren, Kaylee Peterson Rodriguez (husband Jourdan), Amy Horner Brown (husband Cody), and Tyler Peterson, her two great-grandsons Witten and Zayven Rodriguez, her sister-in-law Anne Walker, and her nephew Josh Walker (wife Jayne). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dan Walker.

Father Francis will officiate Kay's service at 10 am on Wednesday, December 6, at St. Anthony in Artesia, NM.
