Mrs. Smith, 68, died on March 2, 2024 at her home in Artesia.
Marianne was born on September 23, 1955 in Schweinfurt, Germany; the daughter of Friedrick Ludwig Meisner and Ingrid Margaret Brockert Meisner.
Marianne was loved by many and a friend to all, whether at Family Dollar or her home. She was a collector of teddy bears, crocks, and anything antique. She loved playing card games, especially 3 to 13. She loved her Aussies, Tripsy, Raisin, and Jagger, like they were her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kevin King, and a grandson Jacob Butwinski.
Survivors include her son, Derek Smith, daughter in law Andie Smith,daughter Stephanie Butwinski, son in law Ben Butwinski; granddaughter Madison Smith, sister Bibi Schultz, brother in law, Chester Schultz; niece Kellie Kelley and nephew Jeff Griffith.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marianne's name to Nor-Lea Cancer Clinic in Lovington.
