Mercy Loya

A viewing will be held for Maria "Mercy" Mercedes Loya on Friday, April 12th, at Terpening & Son Chapel from 2:00 PM- 6:00 PM. A rosary will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, April 13th, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM.

Mercy Loya, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 6, at the Mission Arch Center in Roswell. She was born March 15, 1938, in Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Raymond Loya on August 9, 1952, in Chihuahua. She came to Hope in 1960. She was a wife and homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her three sons Oscar Loya, Eli Loya, Edmond Loya; one daughter Alice Loya Martinez, and great-grandson Jeremy Hatfield.

She is survived by one daughter Elva (Nay Griffith) of Hagerman, grandchildren George (Michelle) Martinez, Tammy (Chris) Romero, Sammy Loya, Eddie Loya, Oscar (Dulce) Loya, Melissa Bennett, Chelsey Wren, Joseph (Melissa) Juarez, Heather Juarez, 13 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Nay Griffith, Chris Romero, Herik Loya, Joe Juarez, Rito and Javier Terrazas. Burial will follow at the Upper Hope Cemetery.
