Services are pending for Margarita V. Cervantez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Cervantez, 69, died February 28, 2019 at her home.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Margarita, a lifelong Artesia resident, was born April 24, 1949 in Artesia, the daughter of Refugio and Eloisa (Villa) Cervantez.


She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Margarita enjoyed listening to music,reading crime novels, baking, as well as many different crafts. She also loved watching her dogs play in the yard or just running around the house. Margarita was well known and respected in her community. She had many friends, and influenced countless people.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son Pablo J. Brizeno of Artesia, New Mexico; sisters Mary Ann Mendoza of Buckeye Arizona, Gloria Heredia and husband Toribio II of Artesia, New Mexico, Patricia Cervantez of Corrales, New Mexico, and Ida Cordova and husband Jose of Albuquerque, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews.
