Lucille Atcherson

A memorial graveside service will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, October 12 at Woodbine Cemetery for Lucille Ethel Atcherson of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Athcherson, 78, died on September 1, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas.

Lucille was born on May 30, 1944 in Artesia; the daughter of Joseph Thornton Rutherford and Orine Ethel Avery Rutherford.

She worked and managed at Bulldog Superette and Little Giant stores for many years.  Her latest job was as bar tender and cafeteria worker at FLETC.  Lucille loved the Lord and her church family was very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Atcherson, brothers Jesse Rutherford, Clyde Rutherford, and John Ashby, and a sister Betty Holbert.

Survivors include a sister Tessie Bean and husband Phil, brothers Harvey Rutherford and wife Ramona, and Harold Rutherford; also by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and all of her church family.
