Judy Payne

Judy K. Payne, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018 in El Paso, TX. Judy was born January 31, 1947 in Artesia, NM to Paul and Helen Morris. She was the youngest of five children. She married her soul mate Johnny Payne on May 15, 1965. Judy is celebrating in Heaven, where she joined her parents and her brother Paul.


Judy was loved and adored by her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Johnny; three children, Melanie (Thomas) Bozada, Paul (Norma) Payne, Melinda (Ronnie) Garrison; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte (John) Mathis, Paula (Eddie) Roberts, one brother, Robert (Sallie) Morris; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Judy lived life to its fullest. Her family and friends were everything. She never missed an opportunity to have them over for holidays of every kind. Her smile, clever sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed. She was an accomplished artist creating masterpieces with oils, watercolors, and ceramics. She was an excellent cook and a square-dancing queen. Later in life, she had quite a reputation with on-line video games.


Family, friends, and others whose lives Judy touched are invited to the Terpening & Sons Mortuary 611 W. Grand Ave, Artesia, NM for visitation on Thursday, November 29 from 2:00-6:00 PM to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate the love that we all share for Judy.


The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM, with burial following at Woodbine Cemetery.
