Juanita Bernard

March 10, 1951 — October 18, 2022

Janie Morrison Bernard was born on March 10, 1951 in Artesia New Mexico to Bennie and Jesusita Morrison. She was a graduate of Artesia High and worked for the New Mexico State University Agricultural Research Institute until she retired in April of 2012. During her life Janie had a spectacular capacity for love and caring that touched so many people. She gave with all her heart at all times and her example of love was passed on to everyone she touched. Her legacy was not one of this material world but one of a loving spirit that has touched people beyond the borders of not only her hometown but of our nation. She passed October 18th in Lubbock Texas and is proceeded in death by her Husband Raymond Bernard and is survived by her son Jeffrey Bernard, her daughter Jessica Bernard, step-son Raymond Lee Bernard, step-daughter Elizabeth Balencia, step-daughter Loretta Bernard, Son-in-law Nick Harris, grand-daughter Stella Jane Harris, grand-son Cosme Bernard, grand-daughter Chelsea Tovar, grand-daughter Melissa Ortega, grand-daughter Latisha McHenry, and grand-sons Cruz and Kristopher Munoz and multiple great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her Services will be Tuesday October 25th at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Rosary at 9:30 AM and Mass at 10:00 AM with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
