John Newberry, 81, beloved Husband, Father, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on September 14, 2022. He entered this world on April 8, 1941 in Hope, AR, born to John and Virginia Newberry.
John served in the Air Force overseas in the Phillipines for four years. He loved the outdoors, hunting with his brother Donnie, and spending time at his mountain home in Cloudcroft with family and his loyal companion, Rocky.
John and Linda owned and operated Designs Unlimited for 31 years. They enjoyed helping the community with their home remodeling projects over the years and loved calling Artesia home.
He is survived by his wife Linda Newberry; daughter DeMarie Niedling and husband Kyle of Lubbock, TX; daughter Amy Jo Dickerson of Hobbs, NM; son Michael Newberry; brother Donald Newberry and wife Linda of Alpine, TX; grandchildren Austin Bristow and wife Caitlyn, Jordan Bristow and wife Davina of Lubbock, TX, Kalen Niedling of Greeley, CO and great-grandson Mason Bryce Bristow.
John is preceded in death by his son Sean Davis, sister Patsy Ann Wynn and grandson Bryson Niedling.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on October 29 at Terpening & Son Mortuary. A gathering will take place on Friday, October 28, from 4 to 6 pm at Terpening & Son Mortuary. The family will also receive friends at the family home from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday following the services.
