Cremation has taken place for Jimmy Don Carter of Hagerman, New Mexico.
Mr. Carter, 61, died on September 19, 2022 at his home in Hagerman.
Jimmy was born on September 12, 1961 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Don Carter and Pat Evans Carter.
Jimmy was a very talented graphic artist and taught art at the Phoenix Institute of Technology for several years. He later did art design for many different companies including Marvel Comics, Mattel Toys, Estes Rockets, Quest Rockets, Mazda, and a few wine companies in California. He created and painted distressed wood using a broom for several of the buildings in Rawhide Wild West Town located in Chandler, AZ
He loved exploring missile silos, collecting rocks and his favorite past time was launching rockets with his friends and family and watching the kids chase them on the way down.
He was preceded in death by his mother on March 6, 2018.
Survivors include his sons Zakary Carter and Mitchel Carter; father Don Carter; brothers Danny Carter, Rodney Carter, and Randy Lisby; sister Suzi Hoskins; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is planning a private celebration of his life and there are no services planned.
