Services are scheduled for Jesus M. Beltran for Saturday, October 1st, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. The rosary will start at 9:30 am, with a memorial mass to follow at 10 am.
Honorary pallbearers are Reggie Lara, Scott Lara, Aaron Lopez, Jack Blankenship, Josue Ramirez, and Miguelito Varelas.
Jesus, 72, died on Friday, September 23, 2022 in his home in Artesia.
Jesus was born on October 29, 1949 in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Jesus was a modern-day cowboy who loved the outdoors. He worked for over 16 years at the Mike Cassabone Ranch in Hope. In his later years, he enjoyed spending a large part of the day tending to his horses, goats, chickens and farm cats at his home in Atoka. Jesus also enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, playing card games, singing and dancing. He also liked word searches and was a great help in the kitchen. His specialties were home-made corn tortillas and Mexican candy. He was a faithful man, who got on his knees both morning and night to pray. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Irene.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe Beltran; his stepchildren Norma Lara and her husband Jimmy Lara, Bobby Carrera and his wife Diana, and Terry Carrera; grandchildren Yvonne Branch, Dominic Carrera, Reggie Lara, Scott Lara, Aaron Lopez, Alexandria Lopez; and great granddaughter Kamryn Carrera.
