Jaime Rene Wesson passed away on August 15, 2026. He was taken from this life way too early but his memory will live on.
Jaime was born on May 13, 1975 to Maria and Harry Wesson. He graduated from Artesia High School class of 1993. Upon graduation Jaime entered military service for the United States Coast Guard where he proudly served. Some of his duties were rescuing refugees in the Gulf of Mexico and drug interdiction missions while stationed in New Orleans. He told his family many of these stories for years to come. His family was very proud of him for his service to humanity. Some of his decorations, medals and badges, citations are: CG Unit Commendation; CG Meritorious Unit Commendation; CG Marksman Pistol; Meritorious Team Commendation Ribbon; CG “E” Ribbon; Nation Defense Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; CG Special Operations Service; CG Coast Guard Expert Rifle; USCG Sea Service Ribbon; CG Good Conduct Medal.
When Jaime honorably finished his military service, he entered law enforcement as a NM State Parks Law Enforcement Ranger in northern New Mexico for a period of time.
Jaime has lots of family and friends that love him. He was especially known for his humor and quick wit. He was a very comical and entertaining guy to be around.
In Jaime’s final years he struggled with health issues and dealt with them the best he could.He was always glad to see his family when they came by to visit him. Jaime is survived by his mother Maria Elena Wesson, father Harry L. Wesson Jr. of Artesia, NM, sisters Harriet Fanning and Betty Ysusi of Capitan, NM, brothers H. Lewis Wesson and wife Nancy of Lake Arthur, NM and John Wesson of Artesia, NM and numerous nephews and nieces that loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed and talked about often.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Terpening & Son Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Terpening & Son Chapel.
