Jaime Chavez

A Celebrating Life is scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 7, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Jaime Chavez, 907 S. 3rd, Apt. 3, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Chavez, 18, died Saturday, June 2, 2001 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia. Fr. Vincent Petersen and Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Rayos, Sam Lara, Santiago Flores, William Hernandez, Bengi Montes, and Conrad Acosta. Mr. Chavez was born June 23, 1982 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Rene Chavez Sr. and Mary Lou Delgado. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia and attended Trinity Temple Church, and participated in the Prison Door Ministries. Survivors include his mother Mary Lou Delgado and husband Steve of Roswell, N.M.; his father Rene Chavez, Sr. and wife Karla of Artesia; brothers Rene Chavez, Jr. of Artesia, Aaron Chavez of Artesia, and Luciano Chavez of Artesia; sisters Shannon Acosta and husband Conrad of Longview, Texas, Tamara Flores and husband Santiago of Artesia and Selena Chavez of Dexter, N.M.; grandparents Natividad Urias of Artesia, Alfredo and Alicia Chavez of Chihuahua, Mexico; a niece Shelsey Flores; nephews Ryan Chavez; Josiah, Emilio, and Sebastian Acosta; and Angel Duran.
