Ivan Ortiz

A viewing will be held for Ivan Deon Ortiz from 11-2 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm on February 9th at Faith Baptist Church. Internment will immediately follow the service at Woodbine Cemetery.

Officiating will be Pastor Michael Duff.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Ortiz, Morgan Quarles, Diego Lozano, Matt Natera, Dominic De LaRosa, and Skylar Johnson. Ivan, 32, passed away on January 20 , 2026 in Artesia. He was born on April 20, 1993, to Rafael Dominguez and Misty Ann Ortiz in Carlsbad.

Ivan had many talents and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do once he put his mind to it. He enjoyed cooking , listening to music , writing music , being outside, playing chess , darts , tattooing and most of all being with his kids that love and adore him so much. He also enjoyed spending time with his family most of all his brothers and bestfriend. He never met a stranger he had such a big heart and would help anyone in anyway that he could. He will be missed by many.

Ivan is preceded by his grandmother, Anita Ortiz; grandfather, Danny Sedillo; grandmother, Adela Dominguez; and great grandmother Lorenzita Sedillo.

Those left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his children, Lukkee Ortiz, Zayvion Ortiz, Aries Ortiz; partner, Sierra Hernandez; mother, Misty Ortiz; father, Rafael Dominguez; brothers, Jacob Ortiz, Morgan Quarels; sister, Jerica Lara; grandfather Mike Dominguez; aunts, Jessica Ortiz, Shadow arechiga, Brenda Sedillo; and uncle, Fermin Sedillo.
