Henry Jones

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, September 10, at Woodbine Cemetery for Henry Ray Jones of Artesia, N.M.

Mr. Jones, 85, died on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at his home.

Lee Roy Howard will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be his Senior Golf friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was born on May 27, 1933 in Bisbee, Arizona; the son of Bill Jones and Lola Shields Jones.

On August 10, 1953 he was married to Joyce Gibson in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a long time resident of Artesia. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a pipeline supervisor for the gas company. He was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Zona Hazle, son Michael Jones, and daughter Terri Steggs.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Jones of Artesia; son Kelly Jones and wife Kimberley of McKinney, Texas; brothers Dolph Jones of Artesia, Floyd Jones of Spokane, Washington, and Robert Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister Melissa Jones of Las Vegas; grandchildren Kathy McCombs and husband Tom, John Pinson and wife Julie, Stephanie Murray and husband Paul, Denise Horn, Britt Steggs, Kelsey Jones, and Jackson Jones; great-grandchildren Mattie McCombs, Brady McCombs, Zack Pinson, Alyssa Horn, Caleb Horn, Victoria Hall and Sydney Hall.
