Harold was born on March 10, 1937 in Malaga, New Mexico; the son of Alton Bruce Evans and Ruth Newton Evans.

Harold graduated as Valedictorian from Lake Arthur High School and joined the Army in April 1957. He was honorably discharged April 7, 1960 .... the same day he married Virginia Ellis in Randallstown Maryland. The couple left that day and headed to New Mexico. Harold worked for Dude Dunn at the Texaco Distributorship in Artesia and later purchased the business. After selling the business, he joined Navajo Pipeline as an Operator, retiring in 2005 after 20+ years. Harold immensely enjoyed all the people he met and worked with along the way.

Harold was a great family man, smart and kind, and a little bit stubborn. He loved spending weekends camping in the mountains and countless hours at Lake McMillan pulling kids and their cousins and friends on water ski's and even skiing himself. He was an avid fisherman earning him the nick name "King Fish" from his brother in law Don Carter. There were many fishing trips to Lake Powell and even more fish stories. Harold enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his son and nephews and later switched to a cruiser style motorcycle. He always took great joy in spending time with his 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and wife Stella, Dan and wife Gerre, Jerry and a sister Patsy Carter.

Survivors include his wife Virginia; a son Paul Evans and wife Kim; daughters Debbie Evans, Karen Evans and partner Bob Reynolds, Sandra Horner and husband Aaron; 7 grandchildren: Brandon & Becca Horner, Timmy Horner, Staci and Nelson McGuire, Cody and Brenna Evans, Lacee and Jeremy DeLaRosa, Breanna Evans, Chelsea Evans; and 9 great-grandchildren: Adler, Maddox, Mason, Jamison, Adalee, Cataleya, Miliana, Kinsley, Cooper.
