Frances Shields

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Woodbine Cemetery for Frances E. Shields, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Shields, 82, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Beehive in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Ed Kneeland will officiate at the services.

Frances was born August 25, 1928 in Buffalo Valley, New Mexico the daughter of Robert E. Warren and Leslie E. Holloway Warren.

On July 6, 1947 she was married to W.D. Shields in Artesia, NM. She was a lifelong area resident. He preceded her in death January 8, 1992.

She was a homemaker. She was the oldest charter member of the First Presbyterian Church, member of D.O.E., V.F.W., and Presbyterian Womens Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include sons David Shields of Artesia, and Wes Shields of Hobbs, N.M. 7 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
