Esperanza Vasquez

Esperanza Vasquez, 68, passed away on April 8, 2026, in her home in Artesia, New Mexico. She was born on January 13, 1958, in Mexico City, Mexico to Felix Cruz and Maria De Los Angeles Lopez.Esperanza is survived by her devoted husband, Alejandro Vasquez, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Together they created countless memories, from fishing trips to enjoying the flavors of seafood and the beauty of the beach. Road trips were a cherished tradition for Esperanza, where every winding road led to new adventures and moments of shared joy.

Esperanza possessed a remarkable intelligence and was a great speller. Her love for learning did not cease outside the classroom; she furthered her knowledge while working as a janitor at the school. Her nurturing spirit and genuine warmth made her a favorite among students and staff alike, as she took the time to brighten everyone's day with conversation and laughter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vasquez will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. A public viewing will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Terpening & Son Chapel. Esperanza will be laid to rest at Woodbine Cemetery.
