Ellis Hensley, Jr.

Ellis Hensley, Jr., 89, left this world peacefully on June 1, 2025. He was born on April 7, 1936, to Ellis Hensley and Catherine Hensley in Big Spring, TX.

He moved to Artesia in 1955. He met and married the love of his life, Etta Mae, on November 19, 1957.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, his wife of 51 years, a son, Terry Hensley, a grandson, and a granddaughter.

He leaves behind a son, Alan Hensley, two daughters, Etta Diane Hensley and Debra Austin. He, also, leaves behind eight grandkids and twelve great-grandkids, known to them as "Papa."

He was a very hardworking man who did his best to provide for his family. He will be missed dearly. May he rest in eternal peace.

A funeral service will be held for Mr. Hensley at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Terpening & Son Chapel with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
