Ellen was born on March 9, 1926 in Taft, California; the daughter of Otis Cox and Annie Schoolcraft Cox.
Ellen Ruth or Mammaw as her grandkids called her, loved her dog Timmie and her cat Smokey. She loved feeding her birds in her driveway then was puzzeled when her yard was covered in bird feathers. She was feeding her cats prey and didn't know it! She enjoyed gardening and admiring her roses that lined the front of her home. She was a quiet lady but would surprise you by accepting a ride with her grandson Dennis on his motorcycle. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her brother in law and his wife. She always had her nails manicured and her hair fixed at all times. She was even known to go grocery shopping with rollers in her hair. Mammaw made the best German Chocolate cake from the pecans she gathered every fall. She helped her husband keep count of the pecans that came off their tree in the back yard. Yes they counted their pecans!
Mammaw used to boast about being a better shot than her brother Ules. Who would have thought she would know anything about guns! Mammaw was a very colorful woman even though she wore a white long sleeved blouse year round. She was a very sweet lady, she never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was polite beyond measure and we will miss sheepish grin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emmit Parker, a daughter Angie Robins, and brothers Sherman Cox and Ules Cox.
Survivors include her children Trudy Evans, Preston Parker, Lloyd Parker his wife Rena; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
