Edna Brewer

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2 at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Edna Mae Brewer of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Brewer, 95, died March 30, 2019 in Artesia.

Edna was born December 5, 1923 in Texoma, OK to Edward Bartels and Emma (Klingsick) Bartels. On July 23, 1941 she married Thomas P. Brewer in Tulsa, OK. They came to Artesia in in 1948 from Gentry, AR. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2001.

Edna was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, Girls Auxiliary teacher, Brownie's Mom and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and helping around the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her sons James Thomas Brewer and wife Nona of Artesia, and Charles Brewer and wife Pat of Abilene, TX; daughter Beverly King and husband Johnny of Artesia; brother Mervin Bartles and wife Nola of Havasu City, NV; grandchildren Mark Brewer, Matt Brewer, Alex King, Dana Vincent and Misti Fuentes; 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, West Main Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Department.
