Dorothy Parrish

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel for Dorothy Lee Parrish of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Parrish, 90, died November 13, 2018 at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia, N.M.

Ty Houghtaling and Gaylan Isaacs will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son.

Dorothy was born January 31, 1928 in Mayhill N.M. to Robert Teel and Lela (Miller) Teel.

On June 21, 1945 she was married to James Leonard Parrish in Roswell, N.M. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Fay Ann Briggs, brother-in-law Clay Briggs, and sister-in-law Donna Teel.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked as a bus driver for the Artesia Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 70 years. She loved her family and getting opportunities to spend time with them.

Survived by sons Thomas W., and Patsy, of Livingston, Tx; Glen D., and Vicki, of Artesia; daughter Bette Rachel, and Bobby Anglin, of Sweetwater, TX; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Also survived by brothers Robert Teel, of Sacramento, CA; Curtis, and Kaye Teel, of Artesia; David, and Sallye Teel, of Junction, Tx; brother-in-law Harold and Barbara Parrish; and sister-in-law Peggy Weatherford.

In lieu of flowers her wishes were for donations to the Baptist Children's Home.
