Services are scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday, March 25 at Terpening and Sons Mortuary Home followed by burial at Woodbine Cemetery for Dora R Acosta – de Leon of Artesia New Mexico
Dora was born to Emilio Acosta and Paulina Romero on February 2,1957, in Bakersfield California. and on March 19,2026 She was taken into the arms of our Lord. Dora had 7 brothers and sisters, 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She met her lucky man, best friend and love of her life Christopher de Leon on December 23,1988 and was married on December 23,1999. Together they blended and raised their family. Sonja Acosta, Paulette Boyce (Jeremy), Yahne Lopez (Maria), Sisinio Gonzales, Naomi Muniz (Paul Anthony) and special gift Nakisha.
Dora was preceded in death by both of her parents, brother Johnny, sister Elizabeth, grandson Michael Rodriguez, 2 brother in laws Michael Perez, Alfred Martinez and favorite dog Tookie. Dora was a hard worker as a CNA at various Assistant Living Homes in Artesia, Roswell, Hobbs and in Carlsbad. She strived to maintain her faith in God even during the trying times and always made sure that her children knew that she loved them.
