Diane Smith

Diane was born December 13, 1945, in Monahans, Texas to Don and Dorothy Weaver. She was the oldest of three. They moved to Artesia in 1963, from Kermit, Texas. She graduated from Artesia High School in 1964.

She met James Smith, and they were married May 6, 1966, in Artesia, where they started their beautiful life together. Her and James bought Artesia Plumbing & Heating and owned it for 56 years before retiring.

Diane was survived by her husband, James Smith; children, James (Jamey) Smith, Jr, Barbara Huitron and Jaime, and Cathy Smith; grandchildren, Erika Riley, Jessika (Chloe) Komarek and Tim, Marlee Fry and Austin, Sabrina, Davian and Sienna Ochoa; great grandchildren, Alexys and Jace Murillo, River, Raiden, and Winter Komarek, Mylee Perdoza Ryan and Alex Castellanos. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Weaver.

She was a blessing to us all and will be forever in our hearts!!

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
