Della Smith

Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, at Sundown City Cemetery for Della Leo Smith of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Smith, 84, died October 26, 2018 at Artesia General Hospital.

Chris Driver will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Della was born November 14, 1933 in Missouri, the daughter of Orf Goodwin and Belle (Morgan) Goodwin.

Della moved to the Hope area from Levelland, Texas in 1991. She was a member of the Hope Church of Christ, and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orf and Belle Goodwin, sister Pat, first husband Reed Rowe, and husband David L. Smith.


She is survived by a son James Rowe and wife Priscilla of Thorndale, Texas; step-son Paul Smith and wife AnnElise of Hope, NM; grandchildren Steve Smith, serving in Kuwait and wife Julie, Jeffry Rowe and wife Kirsten of Hutto, Texas, Casimira of College Station, Texas, Taylor Rowe and wife Tina of Bremond, Texas, Mattie Carter and husband Jason of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sarah Smith of New York, New York; great grandchildren Helina Jo Rowe, Kamden Rowe, Rawlin Rowe, Rosie Rowe, and Cole Carter.
