Della Harcrow

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Della Mae "Hubby" Harcrow of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Harcrow, 81, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Artesia General Hospital.

Nolan Frederick will officiate at the service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Hubby was born April 15, 1937 in Nogal, N.M. the daughter of Samuel Virgil Jones and Agnes Mae (Snell) Jones. She was one of 10 children.

On August 9, 1954 she married Donald L. "Pappy" Harcrow in Capitan, N.M. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Kenneth Lee Harcrow; and sister Vada Armstrong.

Hubby was a longtime Artesia resident coming from Capitan where she grew up. She was a member of the Hospital Auxillary and the Artesia Moose Lodge. Hubby retired in 1995 from the Artesia public school district where she worked as a baker in the cafeterias for 25 years. She served several generations of children who all knew her as Hubby.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Dell Harcrow of Artesia; son Donald Richard Harcrow and wife Karen of Logan, N.M.; sisters Pearl Cheney and husband Joseph of La Feria, TX, Loretta Stahl and husband Stan of San Angelo, TX, Francis Saunders and husband Henry of Roswell, N.M., and Nancy Hatch and husband Brad of Tucson, AZ ; brothers C.G. Shorty Jones of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Sam Jones of Capitan, Roy Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Clyde Jones and wife Nancy of Enville, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
